Standard common legalization and certification of documents required for the shipment of goods to/from the Arab World.

Commercial
Documents
- A Certificate of Origin and a Commercial
Invoice are among the required documents for each shipment. Other related
documents must be placed under the C/O and C/I (new revised forms recommended
but not compulsory).
- All documents must be signed by an authorized
person or agent and notarized by a local notary public (unsigned documents
will likely be rejected and returned).
- The Certificate of Origin must state the full
name and address of the manufacturer in Hong Kong or Arab State with
an appended declaration to C/O) on company letterhead.
- All Commercial Invoices should contain at least six-digit Harmonized
System (HS) Codes (i.e. Schedule B Number) for items in that shipment.
- A copy of each original document must be included
for the Chamber files. There is no charge for this copy. Please separate
the Chamber copies from the documents to be legalized or certified,
attach the check, and then mark them "Chamber Copies."
- Normally basic legalization and/or certification of documents could
be completed by our counsel, the same day they are received, provided
they are completed correctly as required, with proper forwarding arrangements.
For all return mail (or express mail) please attach a stamped, self-addressed
envelope. For return by overnight courier, please attach a fully completed
air way bill including the following: Your account number, company name,
address and phone number as "shipper." The appropriate boxes
checked and completed, such as "bill recipient"/"bill
third party with your account number of your courier." As a courtesy,
the Chamber calls the indicated courier for pickups.
- Fees: Original Document from HK$250.00 per page /copy of the original
HK$50.00 per page. Personal cheques are not accepted. The Chamber accepts
Cash and Company cheques. If paying by money order or cashiers check,
please include your company name, address, and telephone number. Cheques
should be made payable to the ARABCCI Services Limited. Kindly ensure
that the correct amount is enclosed with documents, since the Chamber
cannot invoice for shortages or omission.
- For forwarding to a consular or an embassy office, please enclose
an instruction sheet and a return courier waybill or return stamped
addressed envelope from them back to your office.
- Please note that no documents will be forwarded to any Consulate
or Embassy without a correct check to cover their fees and a return
stamped envelope from them back to sender. ARABCCI charges a minimum
of HK$100.00 to have your documents sent by its messenger the same day
to the designated Consulate or Embassy provided the documents arrive
before noon.
- Consular and Embassy fees and charges vary, so please contact the
appropriate legalization office for their current fees.

Legalization

is commissioned;
- Authenticated by the Secretary of the Government in which the document
is executed;
- Authenticated by the Government Department ;
- Certified by the Arab Chamber of Commerce (at client's request);
- Legalized by the appropriate Embassy or Consulate.
